Wow! Better Than Anxiety Meds!

This application is absolutely amazing. Words alone cant even begin to describe the quality and calming effects of this application. I suffer from PTSD, as well as severe depression and chronic anxiety disorder, for which I take various prescription medications, none of which does anything more than give me an unpleasant sedating, hazy feeling. Before switching from a Windows PC to my Mac, I hade come across a similar software application that, according to the sales hype, essentially does the same thing as this one, except with orca whales rather than dolphins. The quality of the Windows software was fairly good, but because of the amount of memory it used up, the quality declined significently, and basically made it impossible to launch other applications. I finally had to uninstall it, which sucked considering how it cost me somewhere around $50.

I have always loved dolphins, especially killer whales. So much, in fact, that I co-founded a Seattle based non-profit organization that helped spread awareness of the rapidly declining Southern Resident orca populations. As you can imagine, I was very disappointed that the $50/PC live wallpapper/screensaver didnt work. A few months after I made the switch to the Mac, I found this application. Given the low price, combined with my previous experience with live wallpaper type software, I was doubtful that this app would be any better, especially at a cost of only $3.00. Figuring I had little to lose, I went ahead and bought it. The quality of the graphics blew me away. First of all, the movements of the dolphins flow so naturally, its difficult not to think youre watching actual dolphins. The sound effects are also top notch, and I really like the audio settings that allow you to turn on/off the various sound effects, such as the music and dolphin vocalizations.

While not everyone interested in purchasing this application will suffer from disorders such as anxiety and depression, the relaxing qualities of running this as live wallpaper (or even as a screen saver or in observation mode) are, at least for me, far more effective than any prescription medication. What anti-anxiety drugs havent been able to do for me, this application has. The calming effect is so great, I often find myself in an almost deep meditative trance, just by staring at my desktop. Using this application has significently lowered my stress level, allowing me to be more productive, and generally much happier than Ive been in a long time. How the developers of this application can possibly offer this for only $3.00, I dont know. Given all the features, and the extremely high production quality, I would be willing to pay $50, or even a hundred. Even with the amount of money that I essentially wasted on self-help books, meditation tools, and all of the other products and services Ive tried out of utter frustration and desperation, this application far exeeds them all in its ability to treat my conditions and provide quality of life benefits.
